I am so excited to share a glimpse with you today of my 4th fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs called "Country Life."
This collection is a homage to where we are living and raising our family... in the country on the farm. Although I was born and raised in a city, when we got married, 21 years ago, we moved to a country property near the small, prairie farm town where my husband grew up. Over this time, we have been blessed with 4 children, chickens and roosters, 3 different farm dogs, numerous farm cats, sheep and even a pony! Tractors are the vehicles we wave "hi" to on morning walks, and garden fresh food is something our children have grown up with. For all these reasons, and so many more, this collection is near and dear to my heart and I can't wait to share it with you! The Country Life 3-in-1 Felt Farm Play Panel is a MUST have for all ages of country loving babies and children. Turn the farm characters into a mobile that is sure to brighten any nursery or preschool room!

Eat The Rainbow Quilt
An undeniable benefit of country life and growing your own food, is being able to eat from farm to table! When my children were young, I always told them that we need to “Eat the Rainbow”–meaning a little bit of all the beautiful fruits and vegetables we grew in our garden. This quilt pays homage to this life lesson of enjoying all the colors of food that we eat! This pattern is traditionally pieced and finishes at 68 1/2” x 82”. It is an intermediate level pattern with curved seams for the rainbows and HSRs for the carrots.

The barn is the heartbeat of any farmyard. It is where the animals come home to rest, it is where the crop and food get stored for the winter, and it is where the tractors are parked for the night. Therefore, it is no surprise that these iconic buildings mean so much to all living the Country Life! The Barn Quilts lap-size quilt pattern finishes at 64” x 64” and is traditionally pieced with easy stitch and flip technique. Scattered Chicks Quilt Pattern
Who can resist a fluffy, baby chick? Baby animals have long been associated with spring and new life, and on the farm–this means baby chicks. It seems fitting then to make a crib quilt filled with one of our favorite baby animals–the Chick! If you have ever had the opportunity to open the door and walk inside a coop filled with baby chickens–you know exactly what happens... chicks scatter EVERYWHERE!!! This moment of opening the door to the coop is the inspiration behind the Scattered Chicks Quilt pattern. This crib size quilt finishes at 38” x 38” and is traditionally pieced and beginner friendly. The Prairie Garden Quilt Pattern was designed to be a simple sew (all straight pieced sewing) with striking visual beauty. There is no sashing in this beginner friendly quilt pattern and the spacing is achieved through accent fabric and rotating blocks. Imagine the open prairies when you sew this quilt! The Prairie Garden Quilt pattern finishes at a wonderful lap size of 48” x 60” and is traditionally pieced with only straight seams!!! This quilt can go together in a weekend.
