"To have enough to share - to know the joy of giving; to thrill with all the SWEETS of life - is living!" - Jasco 1981
I am born and raised in the city, but have always been a country girl at heart! When my husband and I got married 20 years ago we moved back to his home town and have lived on rural farm acreage ever since! If you have ever experienced, planting, growing, nurturing, harvesting and then eating your own fruit - you will know EXACTLY how much a miracle it is! From the bees that pollinate the flowers, to the leaves that soak up the sun's energy and transform those strawberry blossoms into beautiful, red, sweet berries! YUMMY!
So, it was only a matter of time before I designed a bumble bee pattern for Bee Sew Inspired!!! Yes ,I love bees and everything they do for us and all that they represent! I hope these cute little softies bring some sunshine to your day! They have little rosy cheeks and heart-shaped wings!!! Wouldn't they make the cutest little mobile? The pattern comes in 4 sizes and this one that fits in the palm of my hand is the smallest bee pattern!
I wanted to use Burlap and Blossoms new fabric - Strawberry Honey with Riley Blake Designs for this series of patterns! It is sooooo adorable and I just love all the details the Gracie put into each and every print! From the tiny little honey-comb hexagons in the Beehive print, to the to the tone on tone delicate bear illustrations in the Bear print! I couldn't love this collection more!
The bees needed a friend and so... the Bear Doll was designed! Ooooo - she makes me so happy! She is a whimsical bear that is friendly and sweet - just like honey! I drew her a shaped-heart embroidery detail and a wonderful shaped tummy patch that is EXCELLENT for fussy cutting! Don't you think? I know this Bear Doll pattern will be a hit as she is so classically cute! Change the colors and he would make an adorable memory bear for someone you love! I made this cutie in RBD Texture Basics. I love the dimension this fabric print gives to represent fur, with the durability and joy of sewing with 100% quilting cotton!
If you want make this Strawberry Mini Quilt, you can grab the pattern right now HERE, or sign up for the Inspired Mini Quilts Club and you will receive it for nearly half the price on April 6, 2021! Inspired Mini Quilts Club is a $5/month club that delivers a FRESH, NEW, mini quilt pattern to your inbox on the first Tuesday of every month! I designed this pattern so there are NO bias triangle sewing! Everything is sewn in squares, turned on-point and then trimmed! But you still get that vintage feel without all the work! I love how it feels like container gardening and I made each block a different fabric to really give the mini quilt that scrappy feel!
