I'm Teaching at 2024 Garden of Quilts

I'm so excited to announce that I'm teaching three classes at Garden of Quilts!

Hosted by Riley Blake Designs and Thanksgiving Point, Garden of Quilts takes place at the beautiful 50-acre Ashton Gardens in Lehi, Utah. This four-day festival includes classes from an international roster of favorite teachers, vendors, trunk shows, demonstrations, and a stunning outdoor exhibit of hundreds of beautiful quilts displayed among the flowers and trees.

It's such a special event, and I'm so excited to be back! I hope you sign up for my classes or stop by to enjoy the gorgeous gardens and quilt displays.

My Classes

Strawberry Basket Quilt

Wednesday, September 11, 9am-12 pm

Technique - Piecing

Skill Level - Intermediate

Finished Project Size: 60" x 77"

Stitch a fresh throw-quilt featuring delicious strawberries. This quilt has a secret in assembly -- the quilt's two blocks are set on-point to create a chain with little Xs as a secondary design. In this class, you'll make at least one of each block. You'll learn tips for sewing stitch-and-flip units, strip piecing, and working with small pieces to create a gorgeous (and traditionally-pieced) quilt. The featured fabrics are from the To Grandmother's House fabric collection by Jennifer Long for Riley Blake Designs.

North Pole Village Advent Calendar Quilt

Thursday, September 12, 9am-12 pm

Technique - Piecing

Skill Level - Beginner

Finished Project Size: 67" x 95"

Take a magical trip to the North Pole with this quilt by designer Jennifer Long. Sew houses in a snow-capped village together and have fun being creative with a variety of embellishments including applique and hand- or machine-embroidery. Jennifer will walk you through sewing a house block and adding optional door pockets to turn this quilt into an advent calendar. This quilt is traditionally-pieced and beginner friendly.

Machine Embroidered Doll

Friday, September 13, 9am-12 pm

Technique - Doll Making, Machine Embroidery

Skill Level - Beginner

Finished Project Size: 14", 16", or 18"

Learn the basics of assembling a doll using the in-the-hoop method of machine embroidery! Jennifer will share her secrets for easy doll making using her tried-and-true techniques. Stitch a Grandma doll and customize her with your fabric and thread choices. She has an embroidered hair bun, eye glasses, lacey collar, face details, and hair details. You can make this doll in three different sizes: 14", 16", or 18" depending on the size hoop your machine has (5x7, 6x10 or 8x12).
