Make it Mini Blog Tour

Today, I am so honored and thrilled to share with you the cutest little project I made for the Make it Mini Book Tour!!!

Bev McCullough, also known as Flamingo Toes, is a Riley Blake Designer, Blogger, Author, Pattern Creator and an amazing friend!!! Her vintage style is so addictive and her bubbly personality and energy is wonderfully contagious! When she asked me to be a part of her Make it Mini Book Tour, I of course, JUMPED at the chance to stitch up one of her designs!

Her tagline on the cover of the book sums up the designs perfectly! "Mini Quilts with a Splash of Embroidery". True to Bev's style, she gives her readers so many options and ideas to really inspire creativity! What I love the BEST about this book is how clearly it is laid out and all the beautiful inspiration she shares with us! It really is a MUST HAVE book if you love quilting, mini quilts and embroidery!

When I first looked through the book, this Stepping Stones Mini Quilt just jumped out at me. I love gardening so much, and this quilt reminds me of all the good times in my garden. I love the simplicity of the piecing, with the special details of the hand embroidery. I decided to quilt my mini by hand (which I rarely do anymore) and had such a wonderful time making this mini.

I added cross-hatched through all the squares in a matching aurifloss, and did a perimeter quilting stitch in the border of the mini quilt in an accent red color. I adore the little French knots inside the flowers as well.

I had lots of fun playing with Tasha Noel's Pixie Noel 2 fabric for Riley Blake Designs, some matching and fun Aurifloss colors and some fusible batting from Thermoweb.

I am so excited to add this mini to my ever growing quilt wall! Pink and Red are some of my favorite colors and the hand details in this mini make it a show stopper.

You can order your own copy of Bev's Make it Mini Book on Amazon, or Barnes and Noble and it is printed through Martingale. Don't forget to follow Flamingo Toes on social media as well!!!
