Onion Stuffie: Craft Tutorial Pattern

Add to your vegetable collection with the Sew A Story adorable Onion Stuffie! Join us this month to make a delicate stuffed Onion! This pattern is nothing to cry about and it is great for home decor or for imaginative play with the children in your life!




If you have been here a while, you know I am BIG gardener. So much of my designs and patterns are inspired by raising our family on the farm. Join us as we continue in this series of Stuffed Food FULL PATTERNS!!! In the past we have give lots of stuffed food tutorials, but I wanted to share our doll making skills and make them more accessible!

Let's get creative! Just gather the supplies below, then download the pattern/files. Don't forget to share your project on social media using the hashtag #BSImakersclub and tag @beesewinspired.



Tools

  • Sewing Machine or Embroidery Machine

  • Rotary Cutter

  • Iron and Wool Mat

  • Scissors

  • Hand sewing needle

  • Turning Tool or chopstick


Materials

  • Leaf Fabric: 10" x 10" Cotton fabric in green

  • Stem Fabric: 10" x 10" Cotton fabric in greens or reds

  • Beet Fabric: 10" x 10" burgundy, yellow or off white.

  • 10" x 10" HeatnBond Fusible Fleece

  • 10" x 10" HeatnBond Lite Iron-on Adhesive

  • Fabric Fuse Glue

  • Cotton clothesline rope smooth braid 7/32" approximate 20" in length

  • Optional Embroidery Floss for accenting leaf veins

  • Stuffing (polyfill)



  1. If you haven’t already, become a Bee Sew Inspired - Maker's Club Annual Member. This gives you access to our entire growing, Maker's Club library of downloads!   2. Gather all your tools and supplies

  3. Download and print the pattern / templates and or load the embroidery files/sizes to your machine.

  4. Cut and label all your fabrics according to the directions. Back and stretch fabric with optional light-weight fabric interfacing.

  5. Follow the fully-illustrated, step-by-step instructions.

  6. Be creative! Use your imagination to add embellishments, embroidery details and texture!

  7. Display and play with your finished Onion Stuffie!
