For the love of Quilting...
What is a Quilt? Isn't it just a HUG made out of fabric and thread?
To me quilting is about pouring a piece of yourself into a creation. It is time, love, thought and creativity. When the outcome of this energy becomes a beautiful piece of art that can wrap up your loved one with comfort - the gift of quilt-making is born!
My favorite Quilt Pattern at the moment is the Prairie Garden Quilt Pattern. It does such a great job of making the fabrics the star of the show! With the large focal blocks and the small cornerstones, the Prairie Garden Quilt Pattern really give the fabric an opportunity to shine - all while providing enough interest to keep your eyes focusing on the pattern! As well, because the pattern is all straight sewing, it is such relaxing and accurate pattern. Making it quick and Beginner Friendly! YAY!
When I saw Tasha Noel's NEW fabric line - Quilt Fair for Riley Blake Designs, I just knew I had to make a quilt pattern that would really give the fabrics a chance to shine! The large and small scale prints in this collection lend themselves so well to be featured in the Prairie Garden Quilt Pattern! The Main Print is a fussy-cutters dream and I showcased all 3-colorways in the main blocks of the pattern. Next, I used all the wonderful small scale prints to coordinate. I love the Aqua Sewing Machine low volume print as the background fabric in this pattern! In the FREE Prairie Garden QAL happening later this month, I will show you my tips and tricks for fussy-cutting, using directional prints in a rotational block and just how simple yet versatile this pattern can be!
