Getting Ready for the Strippy Spools Quilt Along

I'm thrilled to kick off the Strippy Spools Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop! This sew along is a celebration of creativity and color, and I'm excited to be sewing along using the Created with Love  fabric collection. The vibrant hues and charming prints in this collection are perfect for bringing the Strippy Spools pattern to life.

About the Strippy Spools Quilt

The Strippy Spools quilt is a delightful design that showcases spools of thread in a playful arrangement. It's a wonderful project for confident beginners and seasoned quilters alike. The pattern offers two size options:

• Lap Size: 53.5" x 66.5"
  
• Twin Size: 70.5" x 82.5"

Supplies Needed

To join in the fun, here's what you'll need:

• Strippy Spools Quilt Pattern by It's Sew Emma
  
• Created with Love  fabric collection (or your choice of fabrics)
  
• Jelly Roll or 2.5" strips for the spool centers
  
• Background fabric for the quilt top
  
• Binding fabric
  
• Backing fabric (3.625 yards for the lap size)

Quilt Along Details

The sew along officially begins on May 19, 2025, and will run for eight weeks. Each Monday, Fat Quarter Shop will share a new part of the pattern, and participants are encouraged to share their progress using the hashtag #FQSStrippySpoolsQuilt and tag @fatquartershop on social media. If Mondays don't work for you, feel free to post on another day that suits your schedule.

Remember, this is a flexible sew along. If you prefer to sew all the bobbins first and then the spools, go for it! The goal is to enjoy the process and make it work for you.
