Eat The Rainbow QAL: Week 3

Welcome to the Eat the Rainbow Quilt-Along! I'm so happy you're joining me in sewing this quilt made from my Country Life fabric! An undeniable benefit of country life and growing your own food, is being able to eat from farm to table! When my children were young, I always told them that we need to “Eat the Rainbow”–meaning a little bit of all the beautiful fruits and vegetables we grew in our garden. This quilt pays homage to this life lesson of enjoying all the colors of food that we eat!

Week 3: Beet Blocks

Week 3 is for sewing Beet blocks! This week, I am sharing tips for assembling the beet leaf units and for pinning. Watch the video, below, as I walk you through making a Beet block!

Gather Your Fabrics

I made the Eat the Rainbow quilt in my Country Life Fabrics for Riley Blake Designs! See the fabric requirements below. This quilt is fat quarter-friendly, so you can easily use your stash or a fat quarter bundle of your choice. To make the quilt in Country Life Fabrics, shop here.

If you'd prefer to buy a fabric kit to make this quilt, there are some shops who are kitting them! Here's a list of kits (I'll try my best to keep this list updated as kits sell out or more shops choose to kit it! If you're a quilt shop and are interested in kitting this quilt, please message us!)

Healthy and Yummy Pickled Beet Recipe

As we sew our way through Eat the Rainbow, I thought it would be nice to share some healthy tips and recipes along the way! This week, I'm sharing a pickled beet recipe I love! As I mentioned in the video, my mother is from Poland and makes amazing borscht, so beets are a big part of my life. I grow beets in my garden and love eating pickled beets.

I can't wait to see your Eat the Rainbow quilts! Thanks so much for sewing along with us!
