March 2024: Monthly Recap

In case you missed it, here's some of the exciting things that happened at Sew A Story in March of 2024!

It Takes a Village Fabric

I announced my next fabric collection -- It Takes a Village with Riley Blake Designs. "It takes a village to raise a child" is an African proverb that conveys the idea that an entire community of people must work together to provide for and positively influence children, so they can grow in a safe and healthy environment.

This fabric collection was designed to uplift some of the amazing people that make up the wonderful communities we share, including medical professionals, firefighters, and police officers. It truly does take a village!

It Takes a Village is now showing to quilt shops. Be sure to let your favorite local quilt shops know that you would like them to order this line. The fabric will ship to shops in October 2024!

New Pattern

I released a cute stuffed apple pattern in March! An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Create your own stuffed fabric apple using fabric scraps and fun hand- or machine-stitching! I filmed a fun video tutorial for this project at the Riley Blake video studio!

Quilt Alongs

This month is very busy as I participate in many different quilt-alongs. I hosted a SAL for my Storybook Felt Panel (stores were selling out of this panel like crazy!). I'm also participating in the Riley Blake Block Challenge, the Fat Quarter Shop Quilted Witch, and the Fat Quarter Shop Millie's Dresses. It's so fun to use my fabrics to stitch along with others. Check out my progress by clicking on the photos below.

Pattern Club

We released two fun patterns inside the Pattern Club this month! We were all about Little Red Riding Hood this month as we made a quilt inspired by the fairytale and Little Red's woven basket! I even shared a video with my favorite products and best tips for making the basket! I hope you join this membership to get creative each month with me!

Blog and Book Tours!

I had so much fun hosting both blog tours and book tours with my designer friends that featured my To Grandmother's House fabric! Have you seen the amazing projects that they came up with? (Some of them are free, so make sure to visit and show some love!). And a Book Tour to promote my first-ever physical booklet starts this week. I sent the first batch of signed copies of my book out last week and included some fun surprises in the packaging, so make sure to get your hands on one!

I hope you had a fantastic March full of sewing and creativity! If you're not already subscribed to my newsletter, sign up here to be the first to know what's going on at Sew A Story! And follow me on social media to see sneak peeks at upcoming patterns, fabric collections, and more!
